I don’t think so, in my opinion the 360 is way better than the ps3, i like the games on the 360 more than games on ps3, plus when Project Natal comes out you are going to wish you had the 360. It also depends, if you have at least a few friends on the ps3 network, then it might be worth it…but it really is all up to you.

I doubt you want to switch, from what I have heard, the xbox is great. Even though online play costs money, you can’t get halo, gears of war or many other games for ps3. then again, you can get some exclusive games for ps3 and not xbox. I think the xbox is better but, as one more wrench in the works, Sony is coming out with wii like controls eventually, I don’t know if they will be switching into new hardware though. Just to make things more complicated, Microsoft is coming out with project Natal, which looks to be the coolest thing ever. Motion sensing controls with your whole body, No remote, with voice and face recognition. I would stick around for that if I were you

Even though I believe the PS3 is the superior console at this point, you should still keep the Xbox 360. If you still have fun, then yes.

However, you should also buy the PS3. High quality games will soon be released as developers are finally looking towards the PS3. Online is also free and in the long run, the PS3 will be cheaper. The PS3 hardware is also better, with greater graphics and less failure rate, etc.

So yea, if you can get both, get both. The PS3 is a great value. But still, if you like your Xbox360 keep it.

There will be no PS3.5, and the next generation of consoles aren’t realistically expected until 2012-2013.

If your only reason wanting to get a PS3 is to get free online play, reconsider.

While the PS3 doesn’t charge for its online play right now, it’s also got the weaker online service compared to Live.

Fewer PS3 exclusives even have online support, and many games that do have online support, don’t support voice chat. Meanwhile, every 360 game that is on Live supports voice chat. The other big advantage with Live is that it’s a centralized service. This means if you’re looking for a friend to play a game, if he’s online you’ll know it. It doesn’t matter what game you and him are playing, you can still contact him. With PSN, that’s not always possible because Sony did not make the game companies host their servers on PSN. This means that you and your friend could be on separate networks, unable to contact each other through PSN. This also means you must maintain different friend lists for each game.

Finally, there’s network stability. I have both a PS3 and 360 next to each other. They’re both connected to the same network switch, that runs over to my router. Live blows PSN away in terms of network connectivity, speed, and reliability. What good is a “free” network if it doesn’t let you play? I don’t know, but that’s essentially my experience with PSN. Downloading stuff from PSN, like games or demos, is painfully slow compared to Live. Remember, both are using the same network connection in my house, the same connection to my ISP, and the same route to the internet. There is no excuse for PSN to continually be slower than Live unless….PSN just can’t handle the traffic. Based on other users’ experiences, I really think that’s the case. So yes, free network…but you get what you pay for.

Besides, if you’re observant, you can scoop up a 12 month pre-paid Live Gold card for $35 from Target, Amazon or Costco. That’s 30% off, bringing you per-month cost to less than $3/mo. I bet you spend more than $3/mo. on Starbucks Coffee or bottled soda.

Well Xbox 360’s online Service is actually good because they provide good service that suitable for what you paid for,

so if you wish to sell your Xbox360 and buy a PS3 then you should think about it twice because Sony has already announced that they are going to release their next version PS4 in 2011-2012 (1)
in that time your console (PS3) will be old because then hundred of games will come for the New Console ,yea it’s natural because like the evolution PS2 to PS3 if you remember the time when the PS3 was launched then you can guess what will happen when they release the Ps4.!

also Xbox 360 team has an idea to release a new console before 2013 (2) because they said that they always working on with new technologies.

Moreover Sony is going to release a Slim version (3) of PS3 cheaply rather than Xbox360 Elite version about for $299 then you got everything like Blu-ray Rom except its Backward Compatibility
then you can’t play Ps2 ,Ps1 games on your Ps3 Slim console
so you only worry about this but you got everything like when you got Original PS3.

and Sony has a good online service too like Xbox live has so you won’t be disappointed if you buy PlayStation 3 then you don’t want to Pay for Online Service ,additionally you can play PS Home (4) that similar to Second Life it’s a great place for hanging out with your friend,

considering your matter then I suggest you to either wait until Xbox team releases their new version/wait for PS4 or just buy the “PS3 Slim”
that is being released in this September it is cheap (Xbox team has an idea to down the price of Xbox 360 too)but then you lost the chance to playing games with your friends.

If I were you then I would definitely buy the PS3 Slim Version.!

I wouldn’t trade in your Xbox 360 at the moment… and this is for 4 very good reasons.

1)- Games
Xbox 360 has more games, it has better games, and it’s games are much cheaper. On Amazon UK, you can buy Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, on Xbox 360, new, for £12.95*. For the same game on PS3, it’s £19.56*. That’s £6.65* less for the Xbox 360 version.

2)- Console Price
The cheapest new Xbox 360 on Amazon UK is £134.99*, including Sega Superstars Tennis as standard. The cheapest new PS3 however is the 80gb model, priced at £244.69*, this comes with either inFamous or Ghostbusters. The cheapest you can buy a 60gb PS3 version, the only one which is backwards compatible with PS2 games, costs £449.99* new. With all this in mind, how much can you expect for your Xbox 360, how much will that bring down the price, and is it really worth the extra money?

3)- Online Play
Unless all of your friends are rich, and willing to fork out the money for a PS3 so that you can play online together, online play will be nowhere near as fun. Also, Xbox Live is far superior to Playstation Network, with more downloads, patches, games, demos, and people.

4)- Project Natal –
http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/news-features/news/Project-Natal-in-detail-050609.htm
You would be a fool to leave the Xbox 360 in the wake of Project Natal. Click on the above link to see what it is all about. Also, Microsoft say that the Xbox 360 will be their top console until around 2015, that’s over 6 years more of magnificent gaming.
Project Natal is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of next year, and if you watch the videos, you’ll be as gobsmacked as everyone else.

*Prices accurate as of 01/09/2009.
