I don’t have a source but I have heard from numerous people and sites that Sony intends to keep the PS3 around 10 years so 2016.

No, it will com out before 2016, Sony plans to continue making games for the ps3 untill 2016 even when the PS4 comes out, much like theyre doing with the PS2.

No one can be sure, but it will be in 5-7 years. Hopefully, by that time, the Cell processor is even more powerful. By that time, technology will be cheaper and better blu ray discs will be available to the public. Like the 400gb that Pioneer made. Also, I hope it will have dual ethernet ports and HDMI ports. That would be nice. Ooh, yeah, and a Solid State Drive.

Since the XBOX LIVE MARKET PLACE and PLAYSTATIO NETWORK and NINTENDO WARE are very popular, each company comented at an E3 confrence that thy wont be making systems anytime soon, and that they’ll give each system an extra few years. I dont know the link, but it was a blog on Gamespot, titled “Next-next gen” or sumthing like that.
Add that with the fact that everyones going poor, and the economy is failing, id say around 2016, possibly even later. I dont see why Sony would need to make a new PS system though, because PS3 already is capable of doing everything that is wanted for the 720 and ps4.
My quess, is that Sony will make a PS system, but it will be differnt then gaming, it’ll be like the wii, It will CHANGE the way you play, (not literlly like the wii, with the remote).
You can expect a psp 4000 model by about 2010, or maybe a psp2 (dont think it’ll acctually be called that) by 2012 ish.

i read this somewhere, the x720 come out 2011 sony said well launch it in 2012 after microsoft.. and no it will not come out 2016, obviously b4.

PS3’s cycle is 10 years. So PS4 would mostly likely come out in somewhere in 2016- 2018 (In my prediction) Because Sony hasn’t really said anything about making a new console since the PS3 is like 2 years old.
PS3’s are like super computers. It’s like ahead technology than any consoles.

probalby around 2012. SOny said the ps3 will be a ten year console, so it will be supported until around 2016, but that doesnt mean the ps4 wont come out before then. SOny has been releasing consoles about every 6 years, so 2012 is the best estimate
